1) What are the eligibility criteria to join CPL course ?

Educational qualification : Pass in 10+2 with maths and physics (or) Equivalent
Age : 17 years completed.
Medical : Medical fitness as per DGCA standard.

2) What is the upper age limit to join in an aviation industry as a pilot ?

Generally airlines prefers pilots between 17 to 35 years of age, however if you have flying experience and you are below the age of 60 years, you may still join.

3) Can a "commerce or arts" students join the CPL course ?

A student, who has passed 10+2 from a recognized Board with Commerce or Arts" subjects, should undergo bridge course in 10+2 with maths and physics from a recognized Board, to become eligible for CPL.

4) What is the minimum height to join the CIPI-programme ?

No minimum height prescribed. The individual has to obtain a cockpit check certified to manipulate controls and he should have an unobstructed view of the outside, as required by the aviation medical examiners.

5) What is he eyesight one must have? Are glasses permissible ?

As per DGCA standard, eyesight should be correctable to 6/6. Glasses are permissible

6) What are the job prospects in India ?

With the introduction of low cost airlines in the open skies of India and Asian Region. There is an anticipated demand for over 1000 -2000 qualified pilots in the next 5 years.

7) How can I choose a flight school ?

10) Can my parents monitor my training progress ?

Yes, the SFA will send performance Report of each student, to the parents regularly.

11) What is DGCA ?

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (D.G.C.A.) is a statutory authority under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, that issues certificate of airworthiness and licencing of personnel in India. It is the authority to issue licences to pilots and has many other roles to over see issues and effective functioning of air transportation in India.

12) How is the life of an Airline Pilot?

Legally, pilots are restricted to fly certain hours daily, weekly, monthly and annually, Rest period is mandatory for the airline, pilot law and airlines closely ensure compliance.

13) What is the package of an Airline Pilot.

Approximate 1.5 to 3 Lakhs per month.

14) Do DGCA and ICAO recognize SFA ?

SFA is approved by DGCA, remember SFA does not issue the licence. The pilot lience are issued by DGCA : therefore your licence is recognized by both DGCA and ICAO.

15) Can SFA help me to get a loan ?

Yes, you may obtain an educational loan from any nationalized bank. We will provide documents needed by your bank to help you to qualify for an education loan.

16) How can I get an application form ?

17) Is there any transportation from the hostel to the airport. ?

Yes, transportation is available for the pickup and drop.

18) Can I complete my DGCA Exams before I Start my flying ?

No, as per DGCA a student must complete a minimum of 50 flight hours before he/she appear for DGCA theory exams.

19) What is the eligibility criteria for a foreign student to join CPL course.?

Pass in 12 standard from a recognized Board with maths and physics as per the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi. In addition, the student has to obtain "Security Clearance" from DGCA, which normally takes one to three months.

20) How long will it take ?

DGCA conducts ground subject examination every fourth month. Once you pass the exams, which may take one or two attempts, flying training and all other formalities can be completed in approximately months

21) Where will I stay ?

Sha-Shib Flying Academy will provide all boarding and lodging arrangements at Bhopal and Guna to a limited number of students.

22) What will my training be like?

Flying and Ground training is done simultaneously on the lines of Indian Air Force. A total of 12 available related subjects will be covered extensively by qualified instructors during this period. Flying training will include ground class and flying training on single and multi engine aero planes as per DGCA approved syllabus.

23) Can I get extra hours of flying ?

Yes, at an extra cost.

24) How is the money paid for the course?

All payments are to be made to Sha-Shib Flying Academy (parental company) by Demand Draft / Local cheque payable at Bhopal.

25) What is the basic qualification and age limits ?

Student needs to have passed class Xth from a recognized board and minimum 16 years of age to Start Flying Training and obtaining Student Pilot Licence (SPL).

Student needs to have passed class Xth from a recognized board needs to have to be a minimum of 17 years of age for Private Pilot Licence (PPL).

Student needs to have passed class Xllth from a recognized board with Physics and Maths and need to have to be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of application for issue of CPL license.

Note: Student can start flying training to obtain CPL licence after passing class Xth and after attending 16 years of age along with class X1th and class XIIth study.
