|(a) Students are expected to maintain a high standard of discipline for efficient learning and the best possible development of personality. The following are deemed to be acts of indiscipline.
(i) Disregard of Institute and Hostel rules, orders, instructions and notice issued by the Institute staff.
(ii) Noisy, boisterous, disorderly and obnoxious behavior in the college or buses.
(iii) Ragging of junior students.
(iv) Irregular attendance and unauthorized absence from classes and hostels. As per the university rules minimum 75% attendance is compulsory.
(v) Lack of punctuality in attendance, in payment of Institute dues and in other matters is not desirable.
(vi) Persistent neglect of studies.
(vii) Recourse to unfair means in tests, examinations and assignments etc.
(viii) Negligent use of Institute property.
(ix) Recourse to false, fraudulent statements or acts.
(x) Taking part in strikes.
(xi) Failure to produce identity card on demand by members of staff, warden, prefect etc. at any time and place within the Institute, hostel and town.
(xii) Unsportsman like behavior in indoor and outdoor games.
(xiii) The students must deposit with the Institute and the University fee in time. If payment of fee is delayed fine may be imposed or they may be expelled from the Institute and hostel.
(b) In addition, the students should observe the following :-
(i) During training in industry, the students must conform to industrial discipline and follow factory rules with regard to attendance, holidays, timings and dress etc.
(ii) Students shall be responsible for all books, apparatus, tools, instruments and materials etc. issued to/used by them.
(iii) Students shall observe all safety precautions. The Institute is not responsible for accidents of whatever nature in the Institute, hostel, workshop, laboratories and playgrounds.
(iv) No society, association or club shall be formed by the students without prior permission of the Head of the Institute.
(v) No meeting shall be convened and no person shall be invited to address any meeting in the Institute premises without the prior permission of the Head of the Institute.
(vi) A student who is found to have committed any act of indiscipline is liable to any one or more of the following punishments.
(a) Warning (b) Censure (c) Fine (d) Recovery in part or full of losses or damages to the Institute property or property of others caused by delinquent student (e) Suspension from availing of any of the Institute amenities and services or from classes (f) Removal, rustication or expulsion from the Institute (g) withholding of character certificate.
Ragging of students will invariably lead to expulsion from the Institute. The punishments are liable to be inflicted summarily at the discretion of the Head of the Institute whose decision shall be final.
(vii) Students are required to attend not less than 75% of lectures and tutorials etc. in each subject and to complete 75% of practical work in practical subjects in order to qualify for appearing at the University Examinations.
(viii) Students who wish to take leave must sent application in writing duly countersigned by their parents or their tutor guardians or hostel warden to the Institute office, at least two days before the date on which they wish to proceed on leave, except in case of emergency. Request for leave for more than one day should be supported by documentary proof.
The Railway concession issued to the students should be used in accordance with the prescribed rules of Railways.
Dress Code: The students must come to the Institute in proper college uniform. They must go to mess and play grounds in proper dress. Those students who do not follow the dress code will be punished & fine will be imposed.
